| A model of the universe in which clumping occurs on all scales, like a fractal: stars form galaxies, galaxies form clusters, these in turn form superclusters, and so on. Present observations indicate that galaxies clump together on scales up to 150 million light years. Over distances greater than this, the universe appears to be uniformly populated on average. |
